AAMC web site Aspiring Docs updates
We’re pleased to announce that four new Inspiring Stories have been added to the Aspiring Docs website:
· Clay Downey: Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, 2017
Clay had a business degree, no science prerequisites, and no experience in a health care setting, but he decided to pursue a career in medicine anyway.
· Carl Streed: Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, 2013
As an openly gay med student, and now physician, Carl is an advocate for LGBT health at the national policy level.
· Eric Zuniga: UC Irvine School of Medicine, 2019
His father’s illness inspired Eric to leave his engineering career to pursue medicine.
· Ryan Gamlin: University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, 2018
After having a career on the business side of medicine, Ryan decided he wanted to become a doctor to make a real impact on people and communities.
We also have several new posts by medical student bloggers on Aspiring Docs Diaries. We’ve updated the blog with a fresh look and a better interface to better organize our growing library of posts.
As always, if you are interested in partnering with us on any new fact sheets or resources, or would like to suggest a student to participate in the blog or aspiringdocs.
Warmest regards,
Tami Levin
