Medical/Dental Brigade information and funds request
Please see the message below:
Dear Shoreline Community College Affiliates,
As a graduate of Shoreline Community College I would like to ask for your assistance. This year I am volunteering my services with the Seattle University Chapter of Public Health Brigades. It is a chapter affiliated with Global Brigades Inc., a non-profit organization (501 3c) that works in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana. Together with 30 other students in the medical field I will go to a rural area of Panama that has limited access to healthcare and we will provide comprehensive health services in our fields. We will have the privilege to volunteer alongside licensed medical professionals and also provide prevention programs through dental hygiene and public health workshops.
This is Seattle University’s third health oriented Brigade, and as a global citizen I want to work towards a more humane world, especially for those who are underprivileged. Through our involvement, we can not only alleviate the suffering of people who are presently ill but also educate younger generations about preventable diseases and the health practices they should follow.
In order for this effort to be a success, we need to raise enough medical supplies to send to Panama to give to the families we will see in the clinic. Therefore, we are looking for sponsors to support this mission to serve others. I need to raise approximately $2,000 and as much supplies as possible.
If you would like to help sponsor my trip, please take a look at my fundraising profile at https://www.globalbrigades.org/empowered/chapter/seattle-university-medical-brigades-chapter/member/zabrina-duncan or contact me if you can donate supplies. Donations can be made by using a credit/debit card or E-check through our profile online. If you would rather donate using a check, please make all donations out to Seattle University and in the memo please write “Seattle University Public Health Brigade Club for Zabrina Duncan.” These checks can be sent to our address on the top of the first page.
I truly appreciate your time and consideration. Please call, email or write to me with any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Zabrina E. Duncan
