2018 AMCAS Application Cycle

We are happy to announce the 2018 AMCAS application cycle will open Tuesday, May 2. Additional important dates for this cycle include submission opening which will be on Thursday, June 1, and data transmission of verified applications to medical schools, which begins on Friday, June 30.

For the 2018 cycle, the changes you will see include the addition of five new questions and the First Generation College Student Indicator. A plethora of support resources for applicants (on the AMCAS Tools and Tutorials page) and advisors (on the Prehealth Advisor Resource page) will be updated and available by Friday, April 14, including an advisor presentation on the 2018 AMCAS application.

Please note that a redesigned AMCAS application will launch later in the 2018 cycle. This change in the application interface will not impact data transmission to medical schools. The AMCAS Outreach Team will provide timely updates as they become available, and we will provide advisors and applicants ample notice and information before the new application interface launches.

As always, AMCAS staff are committed to providing the best possible experience for applicants and their advisors. We will be hosting applicant and advisor online chats in May to answer any questions you may have about the 2018 AMCAS application and will share registration information soon.

Thank you,

Dejanira
