Learn About the UW School of Dentistry’s Rural/Underserved Program
Are you a pre-dental student? Are you interested in working as a dentist in rural and/or underserved areas? Consider applying to the UW’s RIDE program.
The RIDE program was developed by the University of Washington School of Dentistry (UWSOD) to address oral health workforce needs in rural and underserved communities. RIDE is a partnership with Eastern Washington University (EWU), Washington State University (WSU) and the UW School of Medicine WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) program to create educational efficiencies as well as innovations. The RIDE curriculum includes a significant amount of training in rural and underserved areas to increase the likelihood that students will practice in these communities after graduation and has served as a model program for other universities.

Dive Into Dentistry Day
My name is Abigail Mazon. I am a dental student at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and a member of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) chapter for the school.
UW ASDA is hosting an event called Dive into Dentistry Day for pre-dental students, and we would love to invite all pre-dental students to attend. This event will immerse pre-dental students into various dental activities such as drilling, suturing, and waxing teeth. There will also be workshops on mock interviews, applying to dental school, and financial aid options.
I have attached our pdf flyer to this email and our Facebook page:
