New Weekly Virtual Chat Sessions with PAEA and CASPA (Physician Assistant)

Weekly Virtual Chat Sessions with PAEA and CASPA Starting in July

Every April and July, PAEA hosts two-day physician assistant virtual fairs with CareerEco. Together with CASPA, PA programs around the country can participate in these two-day fairs in a virtual chat room setting, where students, applicants, and advisors can connect with program or CASPA representatives.

PAEA is excited to announce the launch of weekly virtual chat sessions beginning on July 1, 2014. As the PAEA Director of Applicant and Student Services, I will host two, one-hour chat sessions every Tuesday and Thursday in July – from 10-11am ET and 6-7pm ET. I will be available to talk about the profession, answer general admissions questions, and CASPA inquiries. These chat sessions will allow you to connect with a PAEA or CASPA representative only – these sessions are not virtual fairs for all PA programs.

The weekly chat is free to all who choose to participate but you must register for each session you choose to attend. Visit the website for more information and details. You will find the complete July chat session schedule here.

Register for the first event on July 1st or email me at danielle@PAEAonline.org with any questions. I look forward to chatting with you.

News & Info Sessions: BASW and MSW Programs in the UW School of Social Work

Upcoming Information Sessions for the BASW & MSW Programs:

The School of Social Work has several information sessions for our BASW and MSW programs scheduled throughout the autumn quarter. Students are invited to meet with a member of our Admissions team for a brief discussion of the profession of social work, our curriculum and admissions application process, followed by Q&A.

Our next BASW information session will be held on Nov. 15th and our next MSW information session will be held on Nov. 14th. Students may register for upcoming information sessions by visiting the School of Social Work admissions web page.

Important Program Prerequisite Change to the MSW Program:

Effective autumn 2014, the human biology requirement is being incorporated into the first-year MSW foundation coursework. Students who are entering autumn 2014 are no longer required to provide proof of completion of a human biology course outside of the MSW program.

Completion of the statistics requirement is still required for all newly admitted students in order to take Soc W 506. This is not an admissions requirement nor is it factored in the admission decision. Students who are admitted into the program must submit official transcripts AND complete the review form in order to have the statistics requirement reviewed.

For more information:

For copies of our Viewbook or questions about admissions, please contact our Admissions Office at 206-543-5676. We offer admission advising every Thursday from 10 – 12 p.m. and from 1 – 3 p.m. Students may also send an email to set up an in-person or telephone appointment. Find out more at socialwork.uw.edu or on our Facebook page.

Thank you!
